GTA 6 Editions, Price & Preorder Bonuses Compared
GTA 6 has exactly two editions: Standard at $79.99 and Ultimate at $99.99. Here's what's in each, the preorder bonuses, and why the box has no disc.

Grand Theft Auto VI comes in two editions and only two: Standard at $79.99 and Ultimate at $99.99. Pre-orders opened June 25, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and every pre-order includes the Vintage Vice City Pack.
The detail most buyers miss is the format. The boxed copy is a download code in a box, not a disc, and it does not go on sale until November 12 — a week before launch — because its whole purpose is to let physical buyers pre-load.
The two editions at a glance
| Edition | Price (USD) | Format | Contents |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard Edition | $79.99 | Digital, plus a boxed download code from Nov 12 | Base game |
| Grand Theft Auto VI: Ultimate Edition | $99.99 | Digital only | Base game plus the Ultimate content bundle (below) |
Both editions cost the same on the PlayStation Store and the Microsoft Store, and both are for PS5 (including PS5 Pro) and Xbox Series X|S. The PlayStation listing states it is not playable on PS4, and Rockstar has never announced a PC version, so there is no PC edition to pre-order anywhere. Take-Two’s fiscal-2027 product release table — covering titles expected to ship through March 31, 2027 — lists GTA VI for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S with no PC entry.
There is no Collector’s Edition. There is no early access.
This needs saying flatly because so much invented edition information is circulating: Rockstar announced two SKUs and nothing else. There is no Collector’s Edition, no Deluxe, no Gold, no Special Edition, and no early-access tier of any kind.
Any price, listing or unboxing video for a “GTA 6 Collector’s Edition” is either fabricated or a third-party retailer’s own merchandise bundle. Nothing official is playable before November 19, 2026, and neither edition changes your start time by a minute.
What’s actually in the Ultimate Edition
Rockstar’s own framing is that the Ultimate content is premium vehicles, weapons, apparel and activities “threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia’s story” — meaning it surfaces chapter by chapter as you play rather than dumping into your garage at hour one.
The itemized list below is transcribed from Rockstar’s storefront listing copy by outlets rather than published as a checklist by Rockstar, so treat the specific names as listing-sourced:
| Category | Named contents |
|---|---|
| Vehicles | A ‘95 Grotti Cheetah sports car with retro-futuristic livery, and a ‘67 Vapid Dominator Buggy stored at the Paradise Garage in Watson Bay. Rockstar’s copy also refers to motorcycles, off-road builds and watercraft, but no complete named vehicle list has been published |
| Weapons | The Hawk & Little Morgan Revolvers — a matched his-and-hers pair with Vice City styling drawn from the Vercetti Estate, described with palm-tree-etched grips, engraved detailing and a high-performance scope — plus personalized versions of Jason’s Girardi ES9 and Lucia’s Klose K17 sidearms |
| Customization outlets | Rideout Customs (vehicle mods) and One-Eyed Willie’s (off-road mods) are named as Ultimate-exclusive, alongside Sara’s Unisex Salon, the Stock 305 clothing store and Electric Fang Tattoo |
| Styles | Signature salon looks for both protagonists — facial hair options for Jason, makeup and nails for Lucia |
What the Ultimate Edition is not described as including: extra story missions, a season pass, post-launch DLC, or early access. Rockstar has not addressed any of those in any material, and no season pass or expansion has been announced for GTA VI at all.
The Vintage Vice City Pack: not actually a pre-order exclusive
The Vintage Vice City Pack comes with all pre-orders and with any purchase made before November 20, 2026. That second half matters. It is an early-buyer bonus with roughly a day of post-launch grace, not something you forfeit by waiting for reviews on November 19.
Rockstar describes it as items that flash back to when the neon burned brightest — a nod to the 2002 Vice City. Per storefront copy transcribed by outlets, the pack contains:
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| ‘55 Vapid Stanier | A period car |
| Shore Court Garage | A property near Ocean Beach |
| Outfits and hairstyles | Vice City-inspired looks for both Jason and Lucia |
| Tropical weapon pattern | Inspired by Tommy Vercetti’s palm-tree shirt |
The pack is included with both editions. Rockstar has not said whether it will be obtainable in any form after November 20, 2026.
The free month of GTA+ — digital pre-orders only
Digital pre-orders also get one free month of GTA+. This applies on both the PlayStation and Xbox digital storefronts, per Take-Two’s official release; early coverage framing it as a PlayStation exclusive was wrong.
The PlayStation Store listing adds a deadline: the free month must be claimed by March 31, 2027. Rockstar has confirmed that GTA+ continues into GTA VI’s lifecycle but has not said what the subscription actually offers in VI, so the value of the free month is currently unknowable.
Note the word digital. If you buy the boxed download code from a retailer, the GTA+ month is not part of what Take-Two announced for that route.
The physical edition is a code in a box — and it arrives November 12
This is the most consequential purchasing detail on the page, and most sites bury it.
- The box contains a download code, not a disc. Stated in Take-Two’s official pre-order press release.
- It goes on sale November 12, 2026, a week ahead of launch, and the press release says that date exists specifically to support pre-loading.
- The box is Standard Edition only. The Ultimate Edition is digital-only, with no boxed version at retail. That framing comes from outlet coverage of the physical release rather than an explicit Rockstar line, but no boxed Ultimate has appeared on any storefront or retail listing.
- Digital pre-orders can also pre-load from November 12, so both routes converge on the same date.
Outlet coverage of the announcement reported heavy backlash from players and retailers over ownership and resale — worth knowing before you buy a box expecting something you can lend, trade or shelve.
One related rumor is worth killing: reporting from a Polish outlet claimed physical copies were being held back to prevent early leaks. Take-Two CEO Zelnick rejected that directly — “That’s not the plan” — and the November 12 date is by design, per Take-Two’s own release.
Where and when pre-orders opened
Pre-orders went live June 25, 2026 at midnight local time, announced by Rockstar and Take-Two the day before. The officially named outlets are the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Rockstar Games Store and global retailers.
As for which edition people are buying: the analytics firm Newzoo estimated an 89% Ultimate Edition share in week one, modeled from the US and the five largest European markets. That is third-party extrapolation — Take-Two has published no pre-order unit or revenue figures at all, and Zelnick told analysts on August 7, 2026 only that pre-orders are at levels the industry has not seen before.
Still not announced
Things that would normally live on an editions page and simply do not exist yet for GTA VI:
| Question | Status |
|---|---|
| Launch-day unlock time on November 19 | Not announced. No unlock map, no local-vs-global midnight statement |
| Download and install size | Not announced. The 150–200 GB figures circulating are community estimates |
| ESRB and PEGI ratings | Not final. The June 2026 pre-order release said “not yet rated.” Australia’s Classification Board has published its own MA 15+ decision, which is official — but it is not an ESRB or PEGI rating |
| Post-launch DLC, expansions, season pass | Not announced in any Rockstar material |
| Whether Ultimate content can be bought separately later | Not addressed |
| An online or multiplayer mode | Not announced. GTA VI is listed as single-player |
